The Qur’an, Muslim Songs, Videos, and Talks: http://www.aflamedia.com/islamiyates/

To read the Qur’an: Go to http://www.aflamedia.com/islamiyates/ and click on “Lire le Coran.”  The link is at the top of the page in the center, and it is also located on the left side of the page in the “Menu” section.  “Lire le Coran” is French for “Read the Qur’an.”  Wait for the page to download.  It may take a while before you see a yellow square in the middle of the screen.  Then you will see a bar in the center of the yellow square with little red moving lines to indicate that it is downloading.  Then you will see Arabic text in an open-book image, with Arabic text indicating different verses on both the right and left sides of the two pages of Arabic script shown.  Click on a different verse, or سورة on the left or right to see different pages.  You can also click on the previous page by clicking on the two words above the book image that say الصفحة السابقة.  This means “the previous page” in Arabic.  This link is the second link from the left above the book image.  You can go to the next page by clicking on the two words above the book image that say اللصفحة التانية.  This means “the following page” in Arabic.  This link is the first link on the left above the book image.  You can also “turn the page” to the previous page by clicking and dragging the corner of the page on the lower right corner of the book to the left.  You will see the page turning as you do this.  You can “turn the page” to the following page by clicking and dragging the corner of the page on the lower left corner of the book to the right.

To listen to Muslim songs and see performances: Click on the link that reads “Al Amdah Annabawiya” in the center of the page.  You can also click on the link that reads “Al Amdah” on the left side of the page in the “Menu” section.  It is under “Ecouter le Coran” and above “Amr Khaled.”  You will see icons with image of musicians above the name of the singer or group and sometimes also with the name of the song.  Click on the Arabic script underneath the icon to access the song.  From there you should see a video.  You can pause the video by pressing the pause button on the left side under the video.  You can also fast forward or rewind the video by dragging the moving cursor underneath the video to the left to rewind and to the right to fast forward.  You can adjust the volume by dragging the sound bar to the right of the moving cursor to the left or the right.

To see episodes from a television program on Muslim topics in Egyptian dialect: Click on the link that reads “Amr Khaled: دروس نلد اعية الاسلامي عمرو خالد.”  You can also click on “Amr Khaled” on the left side of the main page under the “Menu” section.  The link is under “Al Amdah” and above “Alhabib Aljafri.”  You should columns of dark blue links above the image of the television program host and below the words “En ton nom, seigneur, nous vivons باسمك نحيا,” which means “In your name, (Lord) we live.”  Click on one of the links to access an episode of the television program.  Some of the episodes have English subtitles, including “Al Haq,” “Al Qahar,” “Al Ghafur,” and “Al Hamid.”

Information about the host of this program is written in French above the links to different episodes.  Part of that section roughly translates as follows: Amr Mahmoud Helmi Khaled was born on September 5, 1967 to a modest family.  He received a diploma from the University of Cairo in 1988 and later, in 2001, he obtained a diploma in Islamic Studies.  He started preaching in 1990 in mosques and private clubs.  Then in 1998 he began his televised preaching, broadcast on the satellite channel NileSat and the television channel Iqraa TV.  His conferences and televised programs are very popular and touch all levels of the population.

To select from various religious television programs: From the main page, you should see rows of icons with images of men speaking, located underneath the icon showing an image of Amr Khaled.  Click on the text under one of these icons to access the webpage for one of the men.  Then click on one of the links in dark blue text to view a segment of them discussing a Muslim topic.
